Teeth Whitening

The simplest and more affordable way to make yourself look a decade younger is teeth whitening. Drinking coffee, tea, soda, and red wine and taking certain medications can affect the whiteness of your smile. Teeth whitening is effective and financially viable, and can greatly combat tooth discoloration. We offer a variety of whitening services and products, and our team can help you choose the option that works best for you.

We have two main whitening systems. In-Office whitening in our office offers a chemically activated whitening treatment that creates incredible results within an hour. This dentist-supervised in-office procedure is safe and extremely effective, offering a whiter smile after one visit.

Another option is the Take Home Whitening Kit, which includes whitening gels in customized bleaching trays. The gel is sticky and viscous, and it won’t migrate to gums; most formulations include potassium fluoride which is essential to improving oral health by making enamel stronger, decreasing tooth sensitivity, and offering protection against cavities. Before patients receive either system, however, they must undergo a comprehensive exam and cleaning to evaluate if they are a good candidate.

Teeth whitening is not viable for patients with extensive crowns or other cosmetic dental work, because while natural teeth get whiter, crowns, veneers, and bondings do not. A recent cleaning and exam is recommended before tooth whitening. Additionally, continuing to drink coffee, tea, and red wine, and smoking cigarettes will all diminish the effects of the whitening treatments.
